Quality and Effective
WELCOME TO
At Concordia Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic, our mission is to provide quality, evidence-based treatment, and rehabilitation with an attentive, hands-on approach.
Whether you have been injured playing sports, due to a motor vehicle accident or a work injury, through repetitive stress, or you’ve been diagnosed with a degenerative condition that causes you pain, our skilled Physiotherapists will use their expertise to guide you on your road to recovery.
CPSIC is experienced in working with individuals who have sustained injuries within the workplace. Our physiotherapists will properly diagnosis your injury and provide our patients with appropriate tools, therapies, education, and exercise programs to help recover from all types of work-related injuries.
If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident our Physiotherapists can properly assess and treat you. If you have been in a motor vehicle accident and are experiencing any pain inform Manitoba Public insurance, and they will provide you with a claim number.
At CPSIC we have a Physiotherapist who has unique skillset that can contribute to the multidisciplinary management of concussion, especially in the case of cervicogenic headaches, cervical spine pain, vestibular and balance dysfunction
At CPSIC we have a Physiotherapist that is certified in Vestibular rehabilitation. It is a specialized type of rehabilitation therapy that works to improve balance and alleviate dizziness and vertigo-related symptoms through a comprehensive assessment and exercise-based treatment program. It is used to address health issues caused by vestibular system disorders.
Tape can help to increase blood flow in the injured area and decrease swelling which alleviates pain. The elasticity of the athletic tape can also serve as support for the affected muscles. Certain tapes can help with hypermobility. At CPSIC we may utilize tape at the end of the treatment to assist your condition between treatments.
Spinal traction is a form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine. It can be performed manually or mechanically. Spinal traction is used to treat conditions such as herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, and many other back conditions.
Cupping Therapy is an ancient form of therapy used to decrease pain, inflammation, increase blood flow, promote relaxation of tight musculature, and promote overall well- being. It works by creating a local suction onto the skin and therefore increasing blood flow, help alleviate inflammation, promote relaxation, and decrease muscle spasms.
You Are in Good Hands
Physiotherapy is about empowering you with a better understanding of your body. We believe everyone should have quick and easy access to health professionals who will help them meet their health goals and treat their various physical ailments. We work with clients of all ages and a wide range of health conditions. Our team works with you to create a treatment plan to keep you enjoying life and the activities you love
When you come to CPSIC you can find plenty of free parking in front of the clinic. We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment, to fill out Consent forms requesting some basic health information.
As trained clinicians, we want to learn everything about your injury or condition through our comprehensive initial assessment. We will take a thorough history, perform a detailed physical examination, review any clinical tests you may have had, and address all your questions and concerns. Once we have established and explained a diagnosis, we will begin your treatment plan. Treatment plans may change as treatment progresses, to ensure your rehabilitation goals are met. Treatment is provided the same day as the Initial Assessment.
Your initial appointment may last anywhere from 60-75 minutes. Follow-up appointments may take 45-60 minutes.
FAQs
You do not require a doctor’s or other health care provider’s referral to see a Physiotherapist. However, some insurance plans that cover physiotherapy may require a referral from a doctor. We suggest that you inquire into this prior to coming for your appointment to ensure that you are covered.
For your initial appointment, please bring your referral from your health care provider, if you have received one. If you sustained a workplace injury or motor vehicle accident, please bring your claim number and date of injury. If you are using your private insurance, bring your card so if we are able, we will direct bill for you.
You can request an appointment by emailing: info@concordiaphysiotherapy.com
Manitoba Health does not cover the cost of physiotherapy in private clinics. Many private insurance companies do cover some portion of your physiotherapy treatments.
Please see our list of Insurance Providers we can bill. If you have any additional questions, please phone our office to find out if we can direct bill to your insurance plan for you.
If you do not have insurance, we will provide you with a receipt to keep for income tax purposes. We can accept payments in the form of Cash, Debit, Visa and Mastercard.
